Inspiration

Generates music using various skin sensors and leap motion.

The Leap Motion was the biggest hurdle. Getting the leap motion to work on our systems and then be able to parse the data was the biggest challenge.

The various mathematical formulas we derived for transforming the raw data to numbers for output to MIDI

MIDI Programming, Music Theory, Interfacing with Arduino and other hardware, and good project management

Extrapolate the systems to be abstract enough that others can hook their own sensors and use it.

I helped map the raw GSR data to something that the MIDI program can be used

I came up with the general idea of using sensors to generate midi data, and implemented the gathering of the GSR sensor data and the leap motion sensor in Arduino and Python. Additionally I contributed to the signal processing that converted the sensors into midi.

Eric Chan
Data Engineer. I was responsible for collecting all the data from the various sensors we used. As well as processing the data collected to be utilized for various aspects of the program.

Connor Westcott
I designed and implemented the musical algorithms that took the sensor input and quantized it into the desired musical scales and rhythms. I did the musical component in Python, and hooked it up to Reaper for output. Haha I'm so quirky.
