PictoCache

A geographical based open photo sharing platform.

Inspiration

We wanted to develop a system where you could share whatever you were up to without the concerns of followers, friends or subscribers to whoevers around (literally).

What it does

PictoCache shares nearby and recent pictures between its users.

How we built it

We chose to develope for both android and ios concurrently and chose to use ionic 2 and angular 2 to power our front end. Our backend sits on a powerful linode server that stores all images and metadata.

Challenges we ran into

Angular 2 just came out. Its Hard!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the platform that we have built espically how interactive and responsive it is.

What we learned

Next time we will opt for a native solution to avoid the mess that is ionic+angular.
