Inspiration

We were inspired by Google Cloud's challenge and wanted to push the extent of our knowledge with a challenge working on AI.

What it does

Creates an environment where people can freely chat with a virtual agent however they want. The goal of the virtual agent is to provide additional information on COVID and help with scheduling vaccines and tests. Those features need to be further developed.

How we built it

Utilized Google Cloud's Dialogflow to create a virtual agent. It was imported over to python using Google Authentication to work on the Dialogflow API

Challenges we ran into

There were a lot of languages we didn't know for this project. Sleep management Finding information to train the AI

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Talking to the virtual agent feels pretty fluid Communication was top notch Had good team building and we plan on working on this more in the future.

I worked on back end, it was very intimidating now knowing anything I was working on. Overall It was a great experience and I definitely want to keep this project going once I have more free time and class work isn't in the way.

I worked frontend to create a web based GUI using React.js. Initially, I wanted to use Ionic React, but with little web dev experience, the learning curve proved steep. I switched to React and was able to build a fair amount of the webpage. Unfortunately I ran out of time, but it was a great learning experience, and I’ll definitely continue to improve my skills with these tools.

Julie Maričić-Detweiler
I worked on the front end with Julie. The learning curve for React.js (having no prior webdev experience) was steep, but I definitely learnt a lot and am looking forward to continuing!

Shubhika Agarwal
I worked on the back end. At first, I researched Google cloud function and Dialogflow documentations then proceeded to create basic intents and entities. I explored the options to implement fulfillment for certain intents and weighted between using a webhook or the inline editor. I linked the external Covid data API to our Dialogflow project.
