Inspiration

A unified desire to combat the COVID-19 pandemic one step at a time.

What it does

Uses optical character recognition (OCR) to process images and extract text from it; in our case, we use it to process images of people's COVID-19 test cases.

How we built it

We used Javascript, Typescript, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

Learning Javascript where only one of us has had experience working in it. -Formatting a working website. -Integration between Javascript and HTML.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Using outdated documentation and guides and updating it so that JS works with OCR.

What we learned

Machine Learning has come a far way in its development to the point where it can recognize characters and images from image files (e.g. JPG., PNG). Website development is not easy, especially through different languages.
