Inspiration

Inspired by ICR, Inc's Best Remix Hack, the Best Use of Auth0, and our recent emphasis on learning about computer security we were inspired to make a creative and goofy way of authentication

What it does

It is two step authentication where the user's ability to consistently play a game is put to the test. After users enter their username and password, they will be required to play a quick game where everything they do is part of their password. You better remember how you played this game or you are not going to be able to pay off those online bills

How we built it

A React JS frontend and NodeJS and Java backend with a large focus on Auth0's services and generated code

Challenges we ran into

Auth0, being for security, does not like being messed with. It is probably a estimate of the quality of auth0 with how much we had to fight it to do something this silly

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of our idea, our ability to create with love, and learn Auth0 quickly

What we learned

We learned the basics of Auth0, some principles of cyber security, and how to have fun

What's next for Play-thentication

Easy, make it so the game itself does not matter. That the code code can easily be switched in and out for other games. Also to make it a smoother system. Right now (due to previously mentioned difficulties fighting Auth0) how we go about some basic tasks is pretty janky. I am sure there is a better way, but none that I know of given the time constraint.
