Inspiration

Motivated by the widespread financial intimidation and the complexity of existing resources, we set out to demystify personal finance. Our goal: make learning financial skills engaging and accessible for everyone.

What It Does

Pocket Advisor transforms personal finance into a game. Users challenge themselves with quizzes, improve their knowledge, and climb leaderboards by competing against friends. It's about growth, engagement, and community in finance.

How We Built It

As novices in web development and first-time hackathon participants, we chose a no-code approach. We crafted our app's design and user interactions using Figma, prioritizing simplicity and user experience.

Challenges We Faced

Initially, we ambitiously attempted to use React for development, but encountered difficulties with implementation and collaboration through Git and GitHub. These challenges were steep, yet incredibly educational.

Our Proud Achievements

Navigating our first hackathon, we mastered time management and collaboration, forging new friendships along the way. Overcoming our Git workflow hurdles was a milestone we celebrated together.

Lessons Learned

This journey enriched us with time management skills, and introduced us to cutting-edge web technologies like React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
