Inspiration

Due to growing competition, retailers need to to attract and retain customers. In today's market, consumers have many options to choose from and businesses need to find ways to stand out and provide additional value to their customers.

What it does

It provides a convenient and flexible way for customers to earn and redeem points across multiple stores. This allows customers to accumulate points faster and redeem them for more valuable rewards. Additionally, the app can help increase customer loyalty and engagement by providing a sense of exclusivity and rewards for continued patronage.

How we built it

We had the honour working with a great designer and a few developers who sacrificed their nights working on the flutter project. We also had to explore other domains like video editing and UI designing.

Challenges we ran into

Ideation was a slow start. We were also unsure about what features to implement in the final prototypes due to time constraints. Building the Complex UI we maked in the figma designs below was also a hassle. Learning Velo by Wix from scratch for the business portal was difficult initially but we were able to make a good prototype thanks to their docs!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of the fact that we were able to come up with the idea, a beautiful design and a working prototype of PointX a matter of just 48 hours. Proper task allocations and a correct synergy between the team members helped us achieve this and we couldn't be more proud of that! Adding components to the admin panel and linking it with firebase was also a tough task, but we did it anyway.

What we learned

Working with a team, proper time/sleep management. Designers had to learn and explore new technologies in order to pull off this project, while developers had to learn basic design principles to help. The importance of proper role distribution and accountability for one's own is also something we all learnt while working as a team. We also learned how to use a website builder like Velo.

What's next for PointX

We believe that PointX will change the whole loyalty point and customer engagement scene in commerce/retail. Bringing large players into the pointX club will ensure the same.
