Inspiration

The inspiration behind our creation of PortifyMe stems from our deep empathy for job seekers and their struggles in effectively showcasing their skills. Having personally experienced these challenges, we were driven to revolutionize the portfolio creation process. Our goal was to simplify and automate portfolio generation while enabling applicants to tailor their resumes precisely to targeted job descriptions.

What it does

PortifyMe is a portfolio generator website that leverages the power of Next.js, React, and MongoDB. It intelligently extracts information from resumes and transforms it into customizable portfolios. The platform also offers an evaluation feature that compares resumes with job descriptions, providing tailored recommendations. The project utilizes TypeScript, SCSS, CSS, and JavaScript to bring the vision to life.

How we built it

To build PortifyMe, we harnessed the capabilities of Next.js, React, and MongoDB, ensuring a robust and scalable platform. TypeScript served as the foundation for our codebase, while SCSS, CSS, and JavaScript handled the styling and functionality aspects.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development process, we encountered various challenges. Accurately extracting information from diverse resume formats proved to be a significant hurdle, but our team successfully developed a precise extraction algorithm. Fine-tuning the evaluation feature required extensive knowledge of machine learning, resulting in valuable recommendations. Scaling the system demanded meticulous optimization and efficient resource management.
