Inspiration
Have you ever had any unexpected experience with a certain prescription that you wish someone would have warned you about? Have you ever spent hours surfing the internet trying to dig out some form of a reliable source of information from those who've taken the same medications? Did this lead you to end up on a random non-credible and disorganized forum? Well, PrescriptMe can be the answer to all these problems!
What it does
A straightforward website where you can share, read, and appreciate real human journeys with the prescriptions in question.
How we built it
For the prototype of our web application, we used Javascript and Express.js Framework. The back-end server in Node.js. We created an entity diagram with attributes and assigned primary keys, foreign keys. We then created a database using MySQL with the relational database we developed.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many problems. The first problem was coming up with a concrete idea for our product. We focused so much on the solution rather than finding the problem.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We had a finished Figma prototype and a basic website
What we learned
How empathy is a way to find the problems
What's next for PrescriptMe
Continue the development of our website, grow the community, acquiring partnerships, extend the medications categories and finally expand to other provinces in Canada
