💡 Inspiration

Product listings are one of the most trusted touchpoints in digital commerce, yet they are often wrong. Specifications drift over time, variants get mixed up, and sellers frequently reuse copy without proper verification. This results in customer frustration, higher return rates, brand erosion, and increased compliance risk.
ProdSpecGuard was inspired by the need to treat product specifications as a living source of truth and to protect them continuously and autonomously.

🔍 What it does

ProdSpecGuard is an agentic AI system that continuously monitors e-commerce product listings and detects inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete descriptions by verifying them against official vendor specifications.

It extracts authoritative specs from manufacturer websites and documentation, monitors live marketplace listings (e.g., Amazon), performs semantic and structured comparisons, and flags discrepancies with clear, explainable evidence.

🛠️ How we built it

ProdSpecGuard is built using Yutori and Retool:

• Yutori handles extraction and monitoring of product information from official vendor sources and marketplace listings
  
• Retool orchestrates multiple AI agents that invoke Yutori, normalize specifications into a trusted ground-truth profile, compare listing claims, and surface discrepancies
  

This agent-based architecture allows the system to scale, adapt, and continuously verify product accuracy.

⚠️ Challenges we ran into

Product data is highly unstructured and inconsistent. Specifications can appear across pages, images, and PDFs, often using different terminology or units. Building agents that could normalize and reliably compare this information required careful orchestration, validation logic, and error handling.
