An iOS App that offers subscription services for businesses, allowing customers to keep them all in one place. The App allows you to subscribe to and receive rewards from different businesses through the Square tech stack. On top of that, the App lets you pay for your orders.

The story

Redeem is an innovative iOS app that serves as a bridge between businesses using Square and their loyal customers. It offers a comprehensive platform for managing subscriptions and loyalty points, fostering user engagement and boosting customer loyalty. By leveraging the Square Subscriptions API, users can subscribe to their favorite local businesses, avail themselves of exclusive deals and earn loyalty points redeemable at selected stores. Moreover, Redeem's dynamic database and easy-to-use map suggest and guide users to local businesses that align with their spending patterns. By promoting customer loyalty and increased spending, Redeem propels local business growth and reshapes how communities interact with their local economy.

In the face of financial challenges impacting both businesses and consumers, the necessity for a solution like Redeem has become increasingly clear. Studies indicate that customers are more inclined to spend with businesses that offer loyalty programs. This insight led us to not only enhance these programs but also centralize them. Redeem is crafted to fortify the relationship between local businesses and consumers by offering a unified platform for various loyalty programs. This tool aids consumers in managing their finances and provides businesses with an efficient strategy to attract and retain customers. It allows users to reap the rewards of their favorite stores without the worry of overspending, and it enables businesses to find new loyal customers. Through this innovative approach, Redeem is bolstering the financial health of businesses and revolutionizing the way communities engage with their local economy.

Development and Challenges

The creation of Redeem involved a blend of API integration and modern UI design. We harnessed the capabilities of Swift UIKit for iOS development and integrated the Square Order API, Catalog API, Customer API, Loyalty API and Subscription API, along with the Payments SDK. This integration enabled us to manage subscriptions, offer exclusive deals and create a unified loyalty system across all businesses. Our development journey offered a range of learning experiences, particularly the complex task of integrating multiple APIs into a user-friendly platform. To synchronize transactions with the loyalty points system in real-time, we needed a thorough understanding of API documentation and a careful approach to design and testing.

The process of developing Redeem has deepened our knowledge of API integration and the creation of a centralized platform. Furthermore, it has provided us with valuable insights into the creativity and design needed to develop an impactful virtual experience.

What's next for Redeem:

Redeem's future lies in its potential for continuous evolution, guided by user feedback and technological advancements. We envision adding social sharing features and broadening the means to earn loyalty points, transforming Redeem into a vibrant social-commerce platform. We also plan to extend our geofencing capabilities and improve on the recommendation of businesses for users. We aim to reach out to more local businesses, expand into additional regions, and bolster our impact on communities.
