Why did we make Recluto?
This past week, I've had the pleasure of interning as a remote reclutador in Latin America to improve my Spanish. Although I had a blast, one thing I learned about the recruitment process is that it can be incredibly inefficient. Imagine having to juggle three or four programs around the clock to categorize and record the information of potential candidates, crosscheck with previously established references, parse the client's job description and make evaluations regarding skill weightage, and script tailored inquiries, all just to get started manually picking through every. Single. Candidate. And the whole time, you have to contend with inadequately equipped job boards and a lack of consistent organization across profiles. At my fastest, I was clocking a candidate every two minutes, and at my slowest, every six. Even at minimum wage, that's a dollar per candidate on average with no guarantee they turn into viable leads.
As the week flew by, I wondered if things could be different, and I eventually concluded that they could. So I set about selling my teammates on the idea of an all-in-one platform automating most of the rote work so that recruiters everywhere can focus on what truly matters: making quality placements in a time crunch.
What's it like to use Recluto?
In a word, Recluto is incredibly intuitive. You get started by creating a position and simply uploading the job description as a PDF. Our product does all the grunt work for you, scraping the web for all potential matches, organizing information in a consistent and logical manner – complete with a few profile innovations inspired by my own time as a recruiter – and serving it up to you in a Tinder-style interface. Just swipe right on your favorite candidates and Recluto takes care of weeding out unviable leads through automated conversation all the way up until the introductory call. Unsure about a candidate? Save them and access their profiles later on, all in one place. When you've filled the position, just tag it accordingly on your dashboard.
What's next for Recluto?
Honestly, might as well just try and sell the concept to LInkedIn or something. Would work really well with their existing data and would solve my problem. Anyway, that's it for now. If you have any questions about the particulars or would just like to send some feedback our way, reach out to Mithil, me, or Anav on LinkedIn.
