Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project stemmed from a combination of the old mobile game "Dumb Ways to Die" and a spinning roulette wheel! All of our insurance information was researched from Auto-Owners policies

What it does

Our website gamifies the risk associated with not being covered by insurance. The game takes you through our avatar Franklin's worst days. You will have to use your knowledge of insurance policies to help Franky stay covered before he loses everything! Spin the wheel, receive a disaster scenario, and answer the question correctly to earn enough points to win. Be careful though! Franklin's health deprecates every time you answer a question incorrectly or run out of time. Do you have the knowledge to save him?

How we built it

We used a React framework to develop our project and deployed it on Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

This is a first time hack for two of our members! The entire project flow was a learning curve, and ensuring that data and information is passed correctly all the way through.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud to have a (mostly) completed project! It is exactly the fun, yet knowledgeable way to learn more about the risks of not taking insurance seriously! Insurance is a scary topic that a lot of college students brush off to deal with another day, not realizing how dangerous doing just that could be. Maybe you'll learn something from Franklin's mistakes :)

What's next for Risk Roulette

We would love to continue to work on our mobile interface, and incorporate Gen AI to generative creative, yet realistic disaster scenarios for Franklin. Besides that, of course we would like to collect for data and questions to expand our project.
