Satosh-E

Inspiration

Introducing Satosh-E, an approach to AI-generated images powered by Lightning Network micropayments! Unlike OpenAI's DALL-E, where you pay for credits in batches using your credit card, Satosh-E offers a web app that allows users to submit a prompt, receive an AI-generated image, and pay for it individually.

Our goal at Satosh-E is to provide A.) a way that artists and consumers can easily access GenerativeAI content with censor-proof money B.) provide a source to earn sats, for user's who want to host Satoshi instances running on their gaming computer at home. This could produce the long sought after circular economy in crypto where producing and consuming generative AI content is done in crypto.

What It Does

Satosh-E takes a user's prompt, checks the node's wallet balance, and generates an AI-produced image if they have sufficient funds.

How We Built It

We built Satosh-E using Flask for the web app, which communicates with OpenAI's API and an LNBits wallet running on an LND node on Voltage Cloud for Lightning Network payments.

Challenges We Ran Into

For this sprint, we focused on implementing tipping and a community pot, as individual user accounts were considered out of scope. In future iterations, we plan to support separate wallets for each user, ensuring sufficient funds before generating images. Additionally, integrating various components of the project required extra effort due to our large team with specialized skills.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

Despite the challenges we faced, we successfully completed the project from start to finish while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

What We Learned

Throughout the development process, we gained numerous technical skills and improved our team collaboration abilities.

What's Next for Satosh-E

The possibilities for Satosh-E are limitless. We plan to integrate additional features and services from various providers to enhance the user experience and expand the functionality of our platform.
