Inspiration

Our inspiration for creating a budget tracker for students stemmed from the realization that financial literacy is crucial for their future success. We wanted to provide a practical solution that would empower students to manage their money effectively and develop healthy financial habits from an early age.

What it does

The budget tracker we developed for students will have several key features. It will allow students to input their income, track their expenses, and set budget goals for different categories such as food, transportation, and entertainment. The tracker will provide visual representations of their spending patterns through charts and graphs, making it easy for them to understand and analyze their financial habits. Additionally, it will send notifications and reminders to help students stay on track with their budgeting goals. The tracker will also provide educational resources and tips on money management to enhance their financial literacy.

How we built it

To build the budget tracker, We utilized modern technologies and user-friendly interfaces to create a seamless experience for students. We wanted to make it accessible and easy to use, even for those with limited financial knowledge

Challenges we ran into

During the development process, we encountered a few challenges. One of the main hurdles was striking the right balance between simplicity and functionality. We wanted the tracker to be intuitive and not overwhelm students with complex features. Additionally, ensuring the security of sensitive financial data was a top priority, so we implemented robust security measures.

Accomplishments that we're proud of One of our proudest accomplishments was creating a visually appealing and user-friendly interface that made budgeting engaging for students. We also integrated educational resources and tips within the app to further enhance financial literacy. Seeing students actively engage with the tracker and witnessing positive changes in their financial habits was truly rewarding.

What we learned Throughout this project, we learned the importance of user feedback and iterative development. By actively seeking input from students and continuously refining our solution based on their needs, we were able to create a more effective and user-centric budget tracker. We also gained insights into the challenges students face when managing their finances and the importance of providing educational resources alongside the tool.

What's next for Save and Go!

Next, we can enhance the budget tracker by adding features like: - Monthly expense summaries and reports - Notifications for reaching budget limits or overspending - Goal tracking to help you achieve specific financial targets - Integration with banking apps for automatic expense tracking - Customizable categories and tags for better organisation - Mobile app version for easy access on the go These additions will make the budget tracker even more powerful and user-friendly.
