Inspiration
After talking with coworkers, students, and teachers, it is often hard for everyone to remember to maintain a healthy work life balance. Without a change in environment, we find it hard to dissociate with what we are working on. According to optometrists around the world, we need to take a 20 second break after every 20 minutes of work to prevent eye strains. It is important to remember to take care of ourselves despite trying to get tasks done.
What it does
Scrime helps the user remember to take 20 second breaks by showing friendly reminders every 20 minutes of screen time. Scrime will enable the user to take these 20 second breaks and temporarily block all access to the browser.
How we built it
We built it with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges with React life cycles and knowing what to reference when debugging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of finishing this basic outline of the project and effectively communicating remotely.
What we learned
We learned more about React and the importance of preventing eye strains.
What's next for Scrime
Scrime looks forward to more complex features such as tab organization, checklists, and schedule organizers.
