Inspiration

I wanted to build a puzzle based game that required teamwork. I've used Jira in the workplace and have often thought about the team-based feed when using it for scrum.

What it does

Scrum Castles is an AR based game that allows users to place virtual "pieces" when they complete tasks. Each project/team is assigned a 3d model which can be put together over the course of a sprint. Each time a task is completed, the user is notified of which piece they have unlocked and are given a QR code. If they follow this QR code using their mobile device, they will open up an AR page that uses the camera to display the puzzle. To display the puzzle, the camera must be pointed at the company logo (configurable).

How we built it

The app is completely "serverless" and was built using the Forge APIs. For more details view the slide deck below.

FYI Anyone looking to try this game: Make sure to go into the admin page: "Scrum Monuments Settings" and click the button "Start Game" before attempting to play the game!
