Inspiration

Finding your personal colour has been a recent trend in Asian countries with the most recognition in South Korea. We found that this growing trend has not been as common in western countries and we created a product to promote this. Due to the in-person nature of the consultations with professionals, we think this could be improved through a more accessible application or website that Aritzia could implement. To enhance the e-commerce experience for users, we thought it would be beneficial to add an outfit-sharing community.

What it does

Summer is a colour analysis website that generates clothing recommendations based on the user's physical features. Clothing items with colours that bring out the user's physical features, as well as trendy items are recommended.

How we built it

Python, Visuelle 2.0, Pandas, Adobe Xd

Challenges we ran into

Cleaning up large data sets, and unfamiliarity with HTML and Adobe Xd. We were learning as we created the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have a working prototype and we were able to make use of a dataset.

What we learned

How to use Adobe Xd and how to allocate time during hackathons.

What's next for Season

  1. Integrate front end elements with python backend with pyjs
  2. More features:
    • Add optional camera feature which would improve accuracy of skin tone/hair colour/eye colour when computing personal colour
    • Improve personal colour algorithm by adding more variables
    • With Aritzia datasets, we could provide a picture and hyperlink to relevant products
