Inspiration
We as a team, saw the several amount of problems that occur in the world from waste energy. We thought that if we made an application which increased efficiency as one used energy, not only could we save the environment, but we can also help others save large amounts of money
What it does
Detects and returns total amount of voltage, amps, the time, and the UUID of each device. It then uses this information to show a user how much energy they use and how they can be more efficient with their usage
How we built it
For the front end we used react. For the website we used html5, css3, and javascript. For the backend we used node.js and python
Challenges we ran into
Getting the Machine Learning model to become accurate
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making the Machine Learning model accurate and making it able to update devices and statistics in real time
What we learned
We learned how to use different types of hardware such as a raspberry-pi, an arduino, and LED Lights to reflect data returned in our program
What's next for Sentry
We would like to implement Sentry in homes all across the world in the future. The small composite kit composed of the arduino, raspberry-pi, and LED Lights is small enough to fit in anyone's home just as an amazon alexa or google home mini
