Inspiration
We wanted to create something to make students life easier, so we decided to create an universal QR code to store students general information and the idea is to give this code lots of functionalities, such as controlling accesses to the campus or preordering food with a simple web platform.
Also we wanted to make something great for students control with a general and centralized panel where you can see general information about any kinds of users.
Name
We decided to take shetky.tech as domain because in slovak všetci stands for "everyone". To we decided to call our project Shetky since we wanted to make the life of every student easier.
What it does
A web/mobile app where you have a personal QR code. And use it in any kinds of services provided by the school. At the moment for demostrative purposes we decided to implement two functionalities (attendance control and meal orders).
How we built it
With the following tools:
- NextJS
- Ruby on Rails
- React Native
- Figma
- Auth0
- Domain.com
- PostgreSQL
- Affinity Designer (Trial)
Challenges we ran into
It is our first time creating a mobile application with react-native, and it is more difficult than it looks, also de backend design was very robust for something we were supposed to make in just a couple of hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of What we learned
We learned a lot about web and mobile environments, also we thing that we should do smaller and easier projects in our nexts hackathons since we didn't have enough time to finish our project.
What's next for Shetky
We want to create something big out of Shetky and test it in real environments such as high schools and look how it works.
Built With
- auth0
- figma
- nextjs
- postgresql
- react-native
- ruby
