Smol Satellites

Inspiration

This (incomplete) project is a fork of Satellite Tracker by David Suarez, to focus on interacting with small satellites with AWS Ground Station.

How we built it

Technologies include Three.js, React, satellite.js, and AWS Ground Station.

Next, I used CelesTrack, a 501(c)(3) non-profit to search for small satellites and their TLEs for CubeSats and MicroSats.

What we learned

While unfortunately incomplete for HackGT 9, the next objective will be to implement functionality for finding the nearest eligible AWS Ground Station to selected satellites. This would allow researchers and the general public to schedule command and control operations, as well as downlink and display instrument data.
