Inspiration

As college students, we are busy, and oftentimes forgetful. Grocery shopping can sometimes be a hassle, and we want to fix that.

What it does

SnapStock allows you to track of the ingredients in your pantry in just a few simple steps. It lists what you have, and allows you to easily delete what you don't. With the ability to scan grocery store receipts for quicker entry, the app uses AI technology to recognize common grocery store items from a photo. You can share your inventory link to other users, and filter and sort your inventory to your liking.

How we built it

The team split into three major parts. One was working on the design of the project, the other on setting up the database authentication, and the third on the frontend app layout. We built these parts mostly separately at first and then combined them to have a functioning back and front end.

Challenges we ran into

Our initial project was built with the wrong technologies for our needs; we had to scrap and start over 5 hours into the hackathon. We also ran into problems with Angular versions, and Firebase connection.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our strong backend and functioning design prototype.

What we learned

We learned strong collaboration skills, and how to build an app start to finish.

What's next for SnapStock

We hope to add a few more features and make the app fully functional.
