Inspiration

We were inspired by other fun tower defense games, and wanted to expand and make something cool and engaging!

What it does

In this game, your goal is to stop enemy UFOs from reaching Earth. In order to stop them, you have to build weapons on six separate planets throughout the solar system. Each enemy ship you destroy gives you money to spend on creating new weapons to stop the ever increasing onslaught of alien ships.

How we built it

We built it using the Unity game engine, with C# as the scripting language and Blender for the 3D modeling.

Challenges we ran into

A lot of the problems we ran into were related to the 3D graphics. For instance, none of us has any experience with 3D animation, so making the turret heads pivot was something we didn’t know how to do at first.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re very proud of our gameplay, as we didn’t have a lot of team to develop and test it. The end product is something we all have fun playing, and it definitely wasn’t easy. We’re also proud of the graphics, having one of our team members dedicated to creating original 3D models.

What we learned

We learned a lot about 3D modeling in Blender, as well as post-processing and particles in Unity.

What's next for Space Sentinel

A lot of new features! Movable ship attackers, tower upgrades, more types of enemies, and more.
