Inspiration

The inspiration behind SpeedDial came from the increasing challenges people face in maintaining meaningful connections and mental well-being in today's fast-paced, digitally connected world. We wanted to create a solution that could bridge the gap and offer a lifeline of support and understanding.

What it does

SpeedDial is an AI-powered platform that enables users to connect with their inner circle of friends/family/mentors and receive meaningful support and companionship. By uploading message histories with friends, SpeedDial brings their unique personalities to life through AI characters. Users can engage in real conversations, seek advice, and find emotional support, ultimately promoting mental well-being and reducing feelings of isolation.

How we built it

We built SpeedDial using a combination of natural language processing (NLP) technologies, machine learning algorithms, and secure data storage. Our tech stack includes Python, Javascript, Typescript, React, Node, Bootstrap, Flask, OpenAI, Tailwind, and Pandas, allowing us to create a seamless and user-friendly experience. The AI companions were trained on extensive datasets of real conversations sourced from our personal iMessage libraries to ensure authenticity and empathy.

Challenges we ran into

While developing SpeedDial, we faced several challenges, including:

  • Ensuring data privacy and security to protect user information
  • Fine-tuning our AI companions to provide realistic and empathetic interactions
