Why This?

My teammates and I are good friends since our undergraduate studies. One was studying in Northwestern University after graduation and this is the first time we come to visit him in Evanston.

Surprisingly, we found this beautiful place very similar to our undergrad campus! So we want to share our trip here and tell others what we think is extremely interesting by providing a list of must-go places. Then comes this app SpotFun!

This is just a prototype app so far, we have implemented:

• basic user registration and log-in process
• using google maps based API to specify the "spot" you find interesting, together with how long and how much you've taken
• search nearby recommended "spots" from all users with specified time range and cost range
• a server to store all users and "spots"
• user can up-vote and down-vote for "spots" nominated

In the full version, we expect it to have:

• more detailed user management
• a gallery of traveled "spots" within short time
• a list of spots serving as a Cross-Country Orienteering or other activities.
