Inspiration
With unstaking finally available on Ethereum, Shapella finally supplied us with proof that Ethereum will both prevail and that it will increase it's value as a defi asset - not only for retail investors but also for institutional investors. We are confident that demand for staking will increase even more and that tools/applications are needed to help investors get the most out of these new possibilities.
What it does
StakeBoost shows the user an overview of available Ethereum staking providers and offers the user the possibility to stake with those providers. For everyone who already owns a liquid staking token on Ethereum, StakeBoost offers the additional possibility to boost your staking. Boosting your staking is realized by adding your LST as liquidity to a specially configured Boosted Pool on Balancer. This Pool offers additional yield on your LST for two reasons:
- Balancer offers everyone who adds liquidity to a pool a cut on the pool's fees.
- Currently not used liquidity will be lent out on AAVE.
Please note that all of the above is non-custodial. At no time does StakeBoost have access to user's public keys. All transactions are being handled onchain (on the smart contract level).
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was that not all features and functions were available on the same testnets. We started to do everything on Goerli, then switched to Sepolia, then switched to Polygon Mumbai to finally do most of the transaction live on Arbitrum.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It seems to be that we are the first team to offer such additional yield on LSTs.
What we learned
Communication is key - especially when teams are spread across the globe.
What's next for StakeBoost
Currently everything is deployed on various testnets. After the Hackathon we want to bring it live on Ethereum Mainnet.
After that the following Features are on our roadmap:
- Supported staking providers are currently Lido and RocketPool. We want to add all available staking providers that offer value accruing LSTs.
- The Balancer Pool currently only consists of two LSTs. We want to add more LSTs and even add wETH to the pool.
- We want to combine the current pool with a Boosted Pool to also make use of the unused liquidity within the pool.
