Inspiration
We like data analytics. We liked the idea of playing with stock data. I really wanted to dabble in d3.
What it does
It's a stock analytics and visualization tool.
How I built it
We hosted everything from the app to the database on AWS. We used ajax and d3.js to make it a responsive web app.
Challenges I ran into
Team schisms Setup and forgetting how things worked/how syntax was
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We made it as a pair even though teams are normally 4 in size.
What I learned
Ajax (an older version of Angular) php5 (a more terse version of Python web frameworks) D3 is awesome and very powerful
What's next for StockOverflow
Polish and add more features down the road
