Streamster is a micropayments-based video streaming app that lets you pay for video content on a per second basis.
Many Netflix users don't get their full money's worth out of their monthly memberships. Streamster allows viewers to pay only for the bandwidth that they use.
It also allows content creators to make money directly from their views without worrying about things like ad impressions.
This project was inspired by the ease and flexibility of bitcoin micropayments and the success of content streaming sites like Twitch, YouTube, and Netflix.
We used FlowPlayer to stream the video content and Coinbase API to process the micropayments. We hosted our site on Microsoft Azure, our media content on MediaTemple, and our user information on Firabase.
