Inspiration

We wanted to make a unique game that had fast, engaging gameplay. We eventually decided on the tab concept when trying to think of ways to integrate multi-tasking and reduce downtime in our game. The early windows theme arose when we were inspired by the aesthetic due to how it complimented our previously established tab system.

What it does

Test player's coordination and reflexes and serves as an educational game that tries to teach about health and medical care in a fun way.

How we built it

All of the code was written in Unity and the art was made using Pixilart.com

Challenges we ran into

Our primary challenges included making sure the tabs were rendering on the proper layers, integrating the functionality of the different minigames, and using Plastic Scm as our version control software.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The games all exist in simultaneously running tabs which can be dragged anywhere on the screen by the player, allowing for fluid and dynamic gameplay. We are also proud of successfully creating a game that is challenging yet playable in less than 24 hours.

What we learned

We learned a lot more about how to use ray casting to solve problems in Unity and how to work in a collaborative-cloud based environment.

What's next for TabbedIn

Polishing the game with better tab control and improved visuals.
