Inspiration
A lot of our conversations happen over the phone nowadays, through calls, texts, and DMs. It can be hard to see how those connections evolve over time. The idea came from noticing how digital conversations can reveal a lot about the links you have to another person.
What it does
The app analyzes the tone and sentiment of messages, as well as the frequency and consistency of communication, to generate insights about your friendships. It uses natural language processing to detect emotions, positivity levels, and engagement trends. Essentially, it quantifies emotional connection in digital communication.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was managing navigation between different sections of the app and particularly with stacks and tabs routing. Another challenge was making the app have the same feel as any other messaging app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm incredibly proud of getting a fully functional prototype running within 24 hours. Seeing the messages and analysis validated that the concept could actually feel personal and meaningful
What we learned
I gained significant experience in time management and full-stack development. Balancing front-end design, back-end logic, and data handling within a limited timeframe required careful planning.
