Inspiration

We decided to partaken a challenge from FLIR because it was well suited to what we were capable of doing. As for the idea we were inspired by thermal technology and wanted to explore other practical ways of using it aside from what has been told from us.

What it does

This app keeps a log of patients, providing their name, sex, and age. The app also determines the temperature of the patient, keeping track of it through the use of records on a database. This is used to check for anomalies from a patience due to sudden changes in their temperature.

How we built it

We used Android Studio and the FLIR One to create this app.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into trouble getting the API to work for our app. It took us a while to understand its vague documentation. We also were troubled by our database as to what we could parse and store into our app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create an app that is able to store certain pieces of information onto the database online.

What we learned

We learned how to use the FLIR One hardware along with getting into databases and how they work.

What's next for TempEnsure

We plan to add more functionality to the app by fixing its current bugs and extending it to a wider audience.
