Inspiration

We wanted to create an easier way to find and evaluate housing for internships. Instead of going in between sites for different pieces of information, temphouse is a one stop solution to find housing pricing information and plan commutes.

What it does

Users can select a company and office location and we show them open rental listings in the area. Users can select a listing and find details, as well as commute times.

How we built it

For the front end, we are using nextJS and TypeScript with the mapbox API to present the map. For the back end, we are using Python Flask and a real estate API to pull open rental listings around a zip code.

Challenges we ran into

Scraping a large list of company locations, combining the front end and back end, and completing all tasks on time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating an app that we would want to use. Clean and simple UI. Large catalog of company and company locations.

How to use mapbox API and real estate APIs. How to use Python Flask and nextJS. How to manifest company offers by looking at housing options around the jobs we want.
