Inspiration
During a pandemic, and especially when things in life aren’t going so well, it might seem like everything just sucks; however, there are still things to be thankful for! It helps a ton with your mental health to have a place dedicated to recording things you are grateful for, so we decided to build a website that would allow you to access your gratitude log anywhere, anytime.
What it does
Thankful is an online journal that acts as a gratitude log. You can create an account and write down things you are grateful for each day and have positive memories to look back on later on.
How we built it
Front end with HTML, CSS, Javascript. Back end with Flask, and we used MongoDB for the database.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how to work with the database to get information from our front-end into the database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to complete a functional website for the first time, and incorporating a working login system with MongoDB.
What we learned
Learned about web development with the use of Flask, Javascript, HTML, and CSS. Learned about APIs and databases, with MongoDB.
What's next for Thankful
Due to our very limited skill set, there were a lot of features we wanted to do but could not implement. Future improvements could be allowing the deletion of entries and editing of entries.
