Inspiration
The theme from the Hackathon, and some other indie-games.
What it does
A video game where you are stuck in the future and must find a way to get back.
How we built it
Using Unity, a game engine.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how to code and debug the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Figuring out a way to use lighting and other features to make the gaming experience a lot better.
What we learned
How to use Unity 2D and how to work together on a time constraint.
What's next for TimeBreak
Add more features and possibly make it 3D.
Description
You were just another curious mind, toying with time in your secret lab. The prototype Time Engine you built was never supposed to work—but it did. One flash of light later, and everything changed. You’ve been hurled centuries into the future. You wake up in Facility V-19, a cold, metallic prison-factory run by hyper-intelligent AI. Humans no longer exist here. You’re the last one. The factory is a relic of a forgotten rebellion—part machine, part prison, and entirely hostile. Heavy-footed mech guards patrol the halls. You are not welcome. Your only way back? Scattered throughout the facility are 5 Chrono-Cores—powerful energy cells that once powered the Time Engine. You must collect them all to reactivate the escape portal. But there’s a catch… You only have 2 minutes and are only capable of carrying cores one at a time. The facility’s time-distortion field will collapse in exactly 120 seconds. If you don’t escape before then, the time rift will seal permanently—and you’ll be trapped in this mechanical nightmare forever. Avoid detection. Outsmart the guards. Recover the Chrono-Cores. Rebuild the machine. Time is your greatest enemy—and your only hope.
