Inspiration

We all love traveling, but most of the time we don't have necessary resources. So we wanted to make an app that will make you traveling even tough you are at home, in front of your PC. But hey, your friend's don't know that :).

What it does

What our app does is: You upload a photo of yourself, and choose desired location where you want to be. Then, the app removes background from photo of you, and adds a background from a place you want to be. So it makes it look like you are traveling around a world.

How we built it

We based our development on Python: used Flask to build the web platform, along the resources provided by Cloudinary. Front-dev wise we used Jinja. We used React360 for displaying the automatically generated images in 3D.

Challenges we ran into

The handling of imaging processing time, making it friendly to use and learning to use the Cloudinary and React360 resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we managed to have a working prototype and that our app is possible to use. We are proud of incorporating Cloudinary image processing, background replacement and object overlaying into our app.

What we learned

We learned that for great accomplishments team spirit is first thing to come, together with knowledge and experience. We learned how Cloudinary works, what are his benefits and how to use it. Also, we learned about how React 360 works and what are the benefits of 3D technologies. We learned that JunctionX is a great event to meet new people, think creatively and to expose yourself to the new technologies. Image processing takes time.
