Inspiration
The idea for Truffle Trove was inspired by a desire to preserve special places and moments in an interesting way. While photographs and videos can capture visuals, they often miss the deeper, emotional connection we feel to certain environments. We wanted to create a way to encapsulate not just the sights but the sounds, atmosphere, and emotions of a place—turning these into interactive, living memories that could be revisited and shared. The concept of “sporing” environments into truffles came from a blend of nature’s way of preserving life and the idea of digital keepsakes that grow and evolve over time.
What it does
Throughout this Hackathon we delved into how different elements like ambient sound, light, and temperature could be captured and digitally represented. Additionally, we explored how to integrate generative with Unity. Specifically you linked the Meta AI kit and Open AI.
How we built it
Using Meta SDK. Hand tracking with touch and collider on object. Scripts to be able to play sound volume based on velocity and location of hit. Being able to generate mushroom textures based on selected images, using stable diffusion API. UI within the experience using touch buttons. Meta image capture kit to take images from around you and recognise elements of it.
Challenges we ran into
One of the immediate challenges we faced was regarding physics. We had to make sure objects were stable when colliding with it and have the sound correlated with velocity. In relation to this we had to scope various elements.
Secondly we faced some issues with the integration. Specifically integrating the music arose problems with the headset. In one case the solution was to install Android Studio and the replace the adb bridge.
Finally, as it is everyones first hackathon we learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Meeting everyone and having a great time.
