Inspiration ~ More than ever, selling one's unused possessions has never been as popular, what with the huge network social media has become and its huge influence on the rest of the world.
What it does ~ A simple user-interface with an intricate algorithm underneath that scrapes the web for data and analyzes it to give you, our users, the most accurate appraisal, in the shortest time possible!
How we built it ~ We built it through a combination of html, css, javascript, python flask, machine learning, bootstrap, python, and webscraping.
Challenges we ran into ~ Getting frontend and backend interfaces to mesh together and figuring out which algorithms would best help us reach our goal.
Accomplishments that we're proud of ~ The collaboration done on this project, the use of languages and tools we weren't used to beforehand, and the algorithms we were able to implement.
What we learned ~ How to utilize several languages together in order to build a cohesive product with successful frontend and backend performances.
What's next for U-PPRAISE ~ We're excited to take our technology to notable companies (such as Amazon, Letgo, and Ebay) and see their customers benefiting from our product!
