Inspiration
We wanted to reach a happy medium in terms of collaborating on planning low budget trips and connecting people to experiences. We also wanted to make it easier to plan trips in general using a pre-determined outline to choose a location and allow food to be conveniently delivered.
What it does
This extension of Uber allows for users to share a trip with others, and be able to work on building a plan together. Once one or multiple locations are chosen, the group can order food from a chosen restaurant and have it delivered to their location, or picked up along the way. Once the trip is complete, users have the option to split the fares and add tips, or pay for others. Once that is complete, one can rate the experience and be ready to plan another trip!
How I built it
Using Figma, we were able to build a prototype of the extension. We used XCode to build the app itself.
Challenges I ran into
At times, the components in Figma were not compatible with those of XCode, and some alterations needed to be made. The flow and logic of the prototype did not make sense at times, which required us to rethink and make the necessary changes to our project.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Many of our team members were not familiar with Figma and XCode, but were able to learn it quickly and collaborate to complete the project.
What I learned
We learned new aspects of programming with XCode and Figma, and were able to create a project while collaborating on different aspects of it.
What's next for UberPlans
UberPlans may be elevated to consider more components and people to target a larger audience.
