Inspiration

This project is inspired by methods of protecting the sustainability in an ecosystem, and representing it in a creative interface, each difficulty level representing specific geographical areas.

What it does

The player must repeatedly click on the ecological object of that geographical environment (Appears in the middle of the screen, and exponentially grows larger, the greener you are). First level is Michigan, and you must plant enough trees to fix the CO2 in the atmosphere to 0.

How we built it

We built this project using Unity and GitHub

How to Play & Objectives

  • Select Play Game
  • Select easy
  • Repeatedly click ecological icon to decrease the CO2 level
  • Upgrade from the shop with your oxygen currency - You want more oxygen, less CO2
  • Objective is to clear the CO2 from your atmosphere, game ends when your health bar is green, and CO2 is 0

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was merging different project scenes and having them integrated seamlessly. Due to this, part of the time was lost due to recovery.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our UI aesthetic, and or game logic in the shop where you can buy upgrades. The boosts apply by increase your tree-click amount and/or increase in oxygen per second passed.

What we learned.

Our group learn in a extended depth on the facets that Unity has to offer, such as sprite animation and canvas merging. We also integrated sound and clicking method in C# script, which was brand new for most team mates.

What's next for UNDO CO2!

So much is next! As of right now we have one location configured (Michigan's ecosystem), in the future we will have more difficult levels for different locations with varying ecological issues, like pollution in New Delhi, or drought in Kenya. Right now we are bringing awareness to improving the atmosphere in Michigan, but later we will bring awareness to many ecological issues and their solutions around the world!
