Inspiration The inspiration behind UniNsight emerged from the realization that traditional college selection methods often overlook the importance of personal fit within the campus community. Recognizing the significance of factors beyond academic reputation, such as social environment and individual personality traits, inspired us to create a solution that revolutionizes the college selection process.

What it does UniNsight is a platform designed to match students with colleges based on their personality traits and preferences. By inputting their MBTI personality type or answering a set of personality questions, users receive personalized college recommendations tailored to their unique characteristics. The platform aims to empower students to find colleges where they not only excel academically but also feel a sense of belonging within the campus community.

How we built it During the ideathon, we collaborated using Google Docs for brainstorming and planning while employing Canva for graphic design elements. We outlined the project's vision, mission, and key features, focusing on developing an intuitive online platform. The project emphasized user experience, ensuring seamless navigation and informative insights into campus cultures.

Challenges we ran into A primary challenge we encountered was translating theoretical concepts of personality compatibility into a practical algorithm without actual code implementation. We grappled with data privacy concerns, survey design complexities, and algorithm development hurdles. Balancing feasibility and accuracy while remaining within the project scope presented significant challenges that required innovative solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Despite the challenges, we're proud to have developed a comprehensive project outline that addresses the shortcomings of traditional college selection methods. Our emphasis on personalized matching and user empowerment represents a significant step towards enhancing the college selection journey for students.

What's next for UniNsight Moving forward, UniNsight aims to refine the concept, explore potential partnerships with educational institutions, and conduct further research to make and enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the personality matching algorithm. We envision UniNsight as a transformative tool that empowers students to make informed decisions about their academic futures while fostering a sense of belonging within the college community.
