Inspiration

I wanted to solve the waste caused by hog fams that contribute to the air and water pollution in the local area

What it does

Companies are already using bio reactors to extract methane from manure and generate electricity but after this, they return the sludge is sprayed back onto farms releasing aerosols and unwanted particles into the environment

How we built it

This ideathon was mostly built on canva to show what the idea is about and also used to make the info graphic

Challenges we ran into

Working alone was definitely difficult because i had to ideate alone and couldn't bounce off ideas or refine it by talking to my teammates. I am also not very good with design and trying to make a presentable slide deck and info-graphic was definitely outside my area of expertise

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to finish this project on my own and also made a decent info-graphic for my idea. I was also proud that I was able to finish this project even if this event was on the exact opposite timezone as me.

What we learned

I learned how to use canva to make great designs and also how learned a lot from all the workshops during the event as it gave me a framework on how to approach problems and finding a good solution for it

What's next for UpCycleWaste

I Hope we can make this idea a reality and test it out on a few areas that are impacted by the waste problems
