Like many students at UTD, we find ourselves to be more productive when studying on campus rather than staying cooped up in the dorms. However, going out to study on campus raises the question- where?

We decided to create UTD Study Spots to help students find study spots that can meet their specific needs. By listing study spots with associated tags, students can easily find spots that are outside or inside, have outlets for chargers, or have a certain noise level.

We built our website using HTML and Javascript, using Atom as a way to easily share our code amongst ourselves. We also walked around campus taking pictures of each study spot to include on our website.

Considering we started this project with virtually no knowledge of HTML, we’re extremely proud of how far we have come in our ability to use the markup language. We learned how to search through different elements, format text and photographs, and link elements to other pages.

With more time to work on the project, UTD Study Spots would be expanded to include a ratings and reviews feature where students can share their experiences at each study spot. We'd also like to include a way for students to know how busy each study spot is at a given time.
