Inspiration
What overall inspired me was the classic game called Cookie Clicker a simple yet easy game that can be accessed anywhere. When I was thinking about games I could try and make in an easy but quick way I thought of what if there was a clicker game like Cookie Clicker that helps to teach the basics of being Green/Eco and is accessible on almost any device so Verdant Clicker Prototype came to be.
What it does
Overall its a simple prototype to test to see if its possible to make a game that could be accessible. This prototype has the most basic game mechanics that will overall be used in the full version of the game. The Prototype will explain to you how to play.
How I built it
Verdant Clicker Prototype was made using Studio.Code.org it's a great tool to use for creating a Prototype in a faster way, especially with its easier version of programming even though it's mainly used as a website to teach Computer Science.
Challenges I ran into
Simply put the Challenges I have gone through were mainly time. I started working on this project around 3 weeks ago and was originally thinking of trying to make a complete version of this clicker game as time progressed I realized that this idea I have may need to be broken down into 3 things due to being one person and I would prefer to try and make it better rather than a rushed idea which sadly it sort of is, and also this idea I have is a big one I was thinking of adding boss fights and much more levels. Now the 3 things are 1 The Prototype (The current one that is shown.) 2 The Demo (Currently in development.) and 3 The Full Game (Will be published on my Itch.io page once done.). These 3 will overall help make Verdant Clicker slowly become an actual game but as of today, this is a Prototype.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
Overall I am proud that I was able to make this to begin with usually I would not be able to complete a project in such a short time by myself but I have done that.
What I learned
So what I have overall gain from doing this hackathon is that I have improved my knowledge of programming, Improved my skills in managing what to do first and last, and have improved my timing on my tasks.
What's next for Verdant Clicker
Like I had said in Challenges I Ran into I am planning on making a full version of the game but before I do I want to develop a Demo using Unity once done I shall try and get feedback on what to improve and then make a full-on game here's the road map so far: 1 - Prototype (Done) 2 - Demo (40-50% Done) 3 - Full Game (0% Done)
