Virtual Student Assistant

Inspiration

My inspiration for this project was to create hand free navigation without typing along with answering basic mathematical and computational questions to make my life and others as students easier. Along with the amount of navigation I use on a daily basis for school being one of the main inspirations for this project.

What it does

SPARKS allows navigation to sites using speech along with answering computational questions using speech connected to the wolframalpha site.

How we built it

This project was built using PyCharm in Python 3.9.4

Challenges

Challenges we ran into were making sure that the audio worked properly along with correcting issues with pyaudio.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some Accomplishments that I am proud of is the BOT having the ability to answer computation questions as it can be used for help with mathematical questions without needing to type anything.

What I learned

What I learned is how to create a virtual assistant using python. Along with what wolframalpha is and how it could be implemented in a Hackathon.

What's next for Virtual Student Assistant

What would be next is to add a GUI for the Virtual assistant along with cleaning up the code and adding more stuff the bot can do.
