Inspiration

The disaster in Flint Michigan inspired the idea of letting the community share information on their water quality more easily. There are very inexpensive (10$) test kits for water quality, and allowing neighbors or the government to view and analyze this data would help prevent and respond to future water quality crisis.

What it does

Our android app allows you to submit the results of a basic water quality tests, and collects and reports all that data.

How we built it

The app was build with android studio, and the webserver runs Node.js. There's also an SMS interface so people who don't have smart phones may be able to contribute data. Lastly, there's a flask webapp for viewing the data.
