WealthNav: Your Financial GPS 🗺️💸

Inspiration 💡

Money management shouldn’t feel like solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. We built WealthNav to solve a universal problem: financial advice is either too generic, too intimidating, or too detached from real-life goals. Inspired by the frustration of watching friends and family struggle with debt, undersaved retirements, and decision paralysis, we wanted to create a tool that bridges the gap between complex financial data and actionable, human-centric guidance. WealthNav is the GPS your money deserves—clear, practical, and always pointing you toward your goals.

What It Does 🚀

WealthNav is a web platform that guides users to their financial goals through personalized advice and data-driven insights. It’s like having a financial planner, a data scientist, and a motivational coach in one tool. Key features include:

  • Goal-Based Roadmaps: Users set goals (e.g., "Buy a home by 2030" or "Pay off $20K debt"), and WealthNav creates a step-by-step plan.
  • AI-Powered Recommendations: Algorithms analyze income, expenses, and market trends to suggest optimizations (e.g., "Refinance this loan to save $5K").
  • Market News Feature: Users can ask the AI for real-time updates and insights on recent market trends and financial news, staying informed without overwhelming jargon.

Challenges We Ran Into 😅

  • Data Integration: Aggregating diverse financial data into a unified dashboard.
  • AI Accuracy: Selecting the best model to provide realistic projections without overpromising results.
  • Market News Relevance: Ensuring the AI delivers concise, actionable insights without overwhelming users.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of 🏆

  • Created the website in less than 24 hours.
  • Implementing several APIs in one application.

What We Learned 📚

  • Ethical AI is critical: Financial tools must prioritize user well-being over aggressive upselling.

What’s Next for WealthNav 🔮

  • Mobile App: Bring WealthNav to iOS/Android for on-the-go tracking.
  • Community Features: Share anonymized progress comparisons to reduce financial isolation.
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with banks and credit unions to offer WealthNav as a white-label tool.
