💩 WhatThePoop
A monkey. A banana. A rain of poop.
Dodge the 💩, grab the 🍌, and embrace the chaos.
🚀 Inspiration
WhatThePoop was inspired by a simple question:
How can we make a game that’s both completely ridiculous and somehow irresistible?
We wanted to channel the wild, meme-fueled energy of Reddit and the spirit of hackathonshit.today — where the only rule is:
make it dumb, make it fun, and make it weirdly beautiful.
🧠 What We Learned
- Pixel art is powerful. You can express emotion with just a few pixels and a well-placed tear.
- Game jams are chaos. Bugs became features. Glitches became jokes.
- Reddit memes are gospel. The Reddit logo on a monkey's shirt? Peak internet culture.
- Farts are still funny. Always have been. Always will be.
🛠️ How We Built It
- Built using Vite, HTML5 Canvas, and vanilla JavaScript for max portability and zero seriousness.
- All assets were AI-generated pixel art with transparent backgrounds using carefully crafted prompts.
- We layered in chaotic sound effects — fart noises, banana pops, poop splats — because obviously.
- The codebase is intentionally messy in places. We call it “feature flavor.”
💀 Challenges We Faced
- Making poop emojis look cute (and not gross) in pixel art was way harder than expected.
- Balancing the game so bananas, poop, and power-ups felt equally important — in the most unserious way possible.
- Fighting the urge to "over-AI" the game. Simplicity won. Chaos triumphed.
🤖 Does it use AI?
Not really.
Unless you count the AI-generated pixel art assets and the existential dread of a monkey who just slipped on poop.
This game was proudly, intentionally, and beautifully low-tech.
💩 Shitty Useless Ideas (we almost added):
- Poop Leaderboard: Compete for the lowest score possible.
- Random Fart Sound Generator: Every button press releases a different toot.
- Banana NFT Marketplace: Trade digital bananas for… nothing.
- AI-Powered Poop Predictor™: Predict the next poop drop (spoiler: you can't).
- Flush-to-Earn: Earn tokens every time you lose. Valuable? Absolutely not.
🧻 Final Words
[FLUSHING INTENSIFIES] 🚽
Let the chaos begin.
