We will be undergoing planned maintenance on January 16th, 2026 at 1:00pm UTC. Please make sure to save your work.

Inspiration

My inspiration was from the software called Notion. It's a really great and it has many features packed. But for someone who wants a less distracting and simpler software to use, WorkQuilt was built.

What it does

This software is a work management app, the user can input their work and set a time goal. There is a progress bar to let you know how much tasks you have completed relative to all your tasks. It is easy to use and was built in the minds of the users.

How we built it

I used WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), which is an application maker using XAML and C#. The graphics came from XAML and the back-end code were using C#.

Challenges we ran into

A big challenge was saving all the savable data into memory and loading it back in the next time the program opens. There are other ways but I went for the most optimal. Another challenge was designing the application so it's the most optimal.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The program looks decent, just not polished yet. Overall functions are all working well. I also use to suck at writing Classes, but writing this application's main class wasn't bad at all! This is a program I would use myself, so that I'm proud of.

What we learned

After being forced to learn another language for school, going back to languages I learned was more difficult than I thought.

What's next for WorkQuilt

Polish the application and add minimal coloring so it's pleasing to the eye.
