Inspiration

On one hand, the combination of the physical and digital worlds, and on the other, the desire to create a toy that makes problem-solving fun 🧠. Our goal is to help children learn the basics of programming 💻 and computational thinking 🤖 in a playful way, without the complexity of teaching them how to code directly.

What it does

The main character named 'You'🧑‍🚀 is challenged to overcome various obstacles, where players must figure out how to progress. To achieve this, they use physical cards 🃏 that, when combined with augmented reality 📱, trigger reactions that either help—or hinder—the journey to the goal 🎯.

How we built it

Currently, it’s a conceptual idea, but it can be built using AR Image Tracking combined with AI-powered drawing recognition 🤖. This technology allows players to convert their sketches ✏️ into animated 3D objects. We drew inspiration from similar AR experiences, such as Niantic’s Lightship SDK 📲 for AR, and explored how interactive toys like Osmo 🧸 blend physical and digital play.

Challenges we ran into

1️⃣ Taking the time to explore the current state of AR technology and its possibilities.
2️⃣ We need more time to develop a functional prototype and address potential issues (bugs, game mechanics, etc.).
3️⃣ Most team members were making their first approach to this technology, so we focused on creating a simple solution with great potential for evolution while continuing to learn.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

✅ Developing a well-rounded idea that considers the entire product lifecycle and is feasible.
✅ Creating a concept that helps counteract “brain rot” by promoting problem-solving skills and concentration 📚.
✅ Reducing overstimulation while encouraging mindful engagement 🎯.

What we learned

We learned about new tools and gained insights into the current state of AR technology and its future potential.

What's next for You Hack This

👉 Design more levels with increasing complexity.
👉 Develop the project into a fully functional product (if we win the prize 🏅).
