Inspiration
In November 2021, Youtube removed the like feature from their entire platform. This makes it harder for Youtubers to know how people feel about their videos and the overall general sentiment about their channel.
What it does
Provide users with a platform to input their channels and obtain feedback regarding the overall reaction of users sentimentally via their comments using machine learning.
How we built it
We used Youtube's API to gather data, analyze it, and return a value to the user
Challenges we ran into
Getting started was difficult. All of us were super unfamiliar with the topics and struggled to even come up with ideas. At one point we were frustrated and almost ready to throw in the towel.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using the streamlit framework, we were able to easily code the front end of this project and thus were able to put our effort into properly implementing google cloud database services. This includes data storage, youtube api, and natural language processing.
What we learned
We learned about data manipulation and how to use APIs
What's next for YouMood
We would like to implement YouMood on a larger scale eventually
